Christianity vs. Islam

The Biblical Antichrist is the Islamic Messiah

(2 minute read)

Question: Do Muslims and Christians worship the Same God? Do they have the same view of Jesus? What is going to happen in the Muslim end times?

Trivia Question: Who is considered the 13th apostle to replace Judas Iscariot?

What are the similarities?

False Prophets and Claims of Being Christ:

Throughout history, there have been numerous individuals claiming to be Jesus Christ or false prophets.

This is consistent with Mark 13:22, which warns of false Christs and prophets. In the study eschatology (the end times), as human history nears its end, particularly during the tribulation period, these occurrences are expected to intensify, fulfilling biblical prophecy.

Jesus in Islamic Eschatology (Isa):

In Islam, Jesus, known as Isa, is seen as a prophet who did not die on the cross but was raised to heaven by Allah. He is also believed to be their Messiah.

Contrary to the Christian belief in Jesus' death and resurrection, Islamic eschatology holds that Jesus will return to correct misconceptions held by Christians, denying his divinity and atoning death.

Fascinating - that they believe that Jesus is going to come back, just to correct the Christians.

But this paves the pathway for ⬇️

The Islamic Pathmaker - the Mahdi:

The concept of the Mahdi is crucial to understanding this. He is expected to emerge before the Day of Judgment to establish a global Islamic caliphate where you will either convert to Islam.. or be punished. Be killed.

This makes for an intriguing comparison between the Mahdi and the Biblical Antichrist - their roles and actions as described in their respective texts are strikingly similar. The Mahdi is seen as a savior figure in Islam, while the Antichrist in the Bible is a figure of deception and evil.

But what about the Islamic Antichrist?

The Islamic Antichrist (Dajjal):

Islam's version of the Antichrist, known as Dajjal, is portrayed as a great deceiver, falsely claiming to be Jesus, the Son of God.

This figure is expected to be defeated by the returned Jesus (Isa) who assists the Mahdi. This narrative is contrasted with the Christian expectation of Jesus returning as the true savior to defeat the Antichrist.

Their antichrist, strikes a similar pattern to what we believe in the second coming of Christ.

Reversed Counterparts:

Islamic eschatology presents a narrative that almost inversely mirrors the Christian end-times narrative. In Christianity, the Antichrist and the false prophet are figures of deception, whereas in Islam, the Mahdi and the returned Jesus are seen as saviors and truth-bearers.

We need to emphasize the importance of discernment among believers to recognize the true Christ and not be misled by false prophets. Genuine faith, bestowed by God, will withstand trials and persecution, ultimately leading to salvation.

There’s more to this that I may go deeper on a later newsletter - if that’s interesting to you, and you’d like to hear more on how exactly, step-by-step on how these 2 worldviews clash, reply to this email!

Islam eschatology is a straight, reversal, counterfeit of the Bible.
